I have heard some good reports about coolant additives that help maintain the system and also bring the running temperature down so I purchased some Millers Extra Cool and stuck it in. Unfortunately it’s blue so instead of having the vivid pink coolant it’s now gone a dark blue, but hay, it’s doing what it should be doing and keeping the engine extra cool.
I finally got round to installing the original tail gate Griffin and o/s wing GTE stickers I’ve had for about 4 years.
I’ve been looking for a suitable catch tank for a few months now but haven’t managed to find anything yet so for the time being I’ve used an all purpose Fanta bottle.
Also purchased a battery try/box for my Odyssey PC680 and it fits like a glove. It’s going to be mounted in front of the passenger foot rest so central to the car to help with weight distribution.
The air filter cooling ducts have now been made after a bit of cutting here and there to the front fogs. Also purchased some 100mm ducting to help direct the cold air.
Installed the interior lights as I need these for to help trigger the alarm on the car.
Nice update but perhaps for the interior lights - you can probably get something that's just about as weight free from a caravan spares place and it'll be insulated then.
If not, swap your wires round so the red goes to the shorter contact, at least the longer one will be on the switched earth side then, as that's more likely to come into contact with something.
This car is an absolute stunner. It's a credit to all the blood sweat and tears you've put into it Harvey. May the Griffin God smile upon you and give you many many hours driving it with a stupid big grin plastered across your face. You've earned it!!!!
