has anyone had any experience with fitting the z20let into a mk2 astra gte shell?
just wondering what I would need to make it work...
really want to replace my seh with a turbo lump but a good let engine is just too hard to find these days! (well locally anyway)
    any info would be great
    thanks

Isn't that a canbus engine? If so....................a world of work awaits you!

If you go z20let, keep me informed. As I'm having same thoughts. Can't find decent c20let anywhere.

Look at www.csautos.net for z20 engines

Could always run a Z20LET on aftermarket management?

Just what I was thinking. Then a lot less wiring and map will be a lot better to suit what you have in mind for it.

Block is the same and will bolt up on to mk2 brackets so I was told.. Mate of mine was looking a vxr conversation in to a 16v shell . But takes forever to getting around to doing it.

Can have a ask. As I wouldn't mind one in my track car.

You will also need pedal box (accl pedal) from later corsa or Astra. As not a cable throttle

Nice. The ZLET engines are supposed to be better, but the CLET is a relative doddle to install into a mk2.

You'll have fun with that. I nearly trashed mine into a ditch the first time I drove it, the extra 60hhp and unexpected mahoooosive understeer caught me out a bit.

What's the going rate for a LET with F28 these days?

                    Re: z20let conversion

to be honest just having a 16v will be all new to me as im swapping my 8v for the let...

the zlet conversion would have been a great achievement but as I don't have endless amounts of cash or time I figured the clet was the more straight forward/sensible choice...

im still after a gearbox as ive only got the complete engine, ecu, wiring loom, clutch, flywheel and a few other bits and bobs and that lot set me back £600...

£600 sounds like a pretty reasonable amount to me. You'll need an f28 unless you have a pile of f20s in your shed!
