i dont know for sure you need an F28 plate, tbh i would think you need the drive flange off an F20, how many bolt holes are around the diff housing?

an F28 conversion "kit" is just a bearing carrier and an oil seal, exactly the same as whats attached to the drivers side of F16 and F20. it doesnt support the cv at all.

p.s the bolt spacing is different on F28 2wd plate, it wont fit an F20

when i converted my F28 i used the diff seal housing off my f16 then had it machined so it would fit then i taped out the holes and bolted it up, you may be able to just bolt up the flange off the F16 and that will be enough

as i said in the PM, we cant guess what is wrong from pictures, and then tell you how to fix it based on guesses. the actuall diff could be flopping about inside the box for all we know, or it might just be the cv joint at issue.

if you have access to mig, contact user http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/member.php?u=953 who i know has done this conversion, or could possibly hav more eductaed guess at what is wrong or what is lacking

very far left is oilseals f16 top,f20 on bottom.holes dont line up so unable 2 use f16 oilseal on f20.second pic from left is f20 hole that transfer box fixes too.other pics r f16 parts.will it b a straight swap puttin f20 internals into f16 casing?i also want 2 use the f20 final drive for accelertion or wud the f16 be better?cheers

thats why i think the cv joint is wobbling about, because the cv usually slides into the diff right behind the oil seal. but with the 4x4 box it has to go through 2 inches of the transfer box drive spline without any support.

using equal length drive shaft would cure it, as its supported by another bearing bolted to the engine block.

2 wheel drive F16 and F20 internals are almost identicle, the difference is the diff is bigger and stronger on the F20, and the end case bearing between the final drive and diff is bigger and might not fit the F16 housing.

                              too many options.
