  • Ecu 2.0 8v

I've done a little research but thought I'd ask, as far as I can read my 8v gte has two rows of on its ECU , and quite a few of the SEH ECUs have 3 rows as the are from the later mk3 cavalier, but does anyone know which numbers are for the 2 row SEH ECUs
If all I've written is way of the mark could some one put me right please thankyou

    Re: Ecu 2.0 8v

    2 row motronic ML4.1, ident FH, bosch 0 261 200 116 20SER engine
    3 row motronic M1.5, ident GD, bosch 0 261 200 374 20SER engine
3 row motronic M1.5, ident GC, bosch 0 261 200 372 C20NE engine (only fitted to cabriolet in the UK)

3 row fitted 1990 onwards iirc

      Re: Ecu 2.0 8v

My ecu number ends 115 with FH ident so I'm going to guess that I can't put a SEH ecu on my car, does that tally?

        Re: Ecu 2.0 8v

as you rightly pointed out there are slight variations of last 3 digits of the bosch part number (usually for different vehicles) but its not the case that SEH ecus are 3 row, you can get both 2 and 3, just like astra 20SER ecus.

if you can find a 2 row SEH ecu it will work fine, but it wont be the same ident as astra version. for example the 3 row SEH ecu for cavalier is GF, 3 row C20NE ecu is GE

bit of googling, 2 row cavalier ecu is FU ident, bosch part number ending 133 and 134

                      Re: Ecu 2.0 8v

You can always just swap the loom for a 3 row type only takes a few minutes, the only other thing you need to change is the throttle pot rest of it can stay the same and it plugs in with no hassle.

Oooo didn't think of that, that's an idea, will any astra 3 row loom work?

                          Re: Ecu 2.0 8v

If it's off a 2.0 8v and has the flap type air mass meter I don't see why it wont, I would suspect a cav loom would also fit ok.

That's exactly the same as what's on car , checked it earlier when I got 5mins , so that's a SER ecu correct?
