Had a busy day today but before i could go out to play i had to supervise/watch the the new boiler being fitted once that was up and running all systems were go go go 1st visit was to the post office when i came out of there i was £126.50 lighter,

            6 months tax,

lmao i didn't have enough change on me to buy a tax disc holder so the masking tape had to do hahaha.

2nd stop was Texaco petrol station £20 super unleaded after a good 20miles run i returned home to be greeted by the miss's only to go out shopping she said we dont need much a loaf of bread, a pack of scones and a couple of other bits lol we went in morrisons and came out with 6 bags of shopping,

anyways after the family duties i got to play so i decided to fit a handle the roof kind to the drivers inside i have a few spares so thought why not my Vectra has 4 handles so Champ should have 4, i removed the blanking plugs and picked out a good handle and give it a good clean found some screw that were up for the job and presto!!

Bought these genuine Champ seat sub-frame covers off dancedj a while back,

Not sure how they should be fitted i mean i worked out that they have to be screwed into the bottom of the seat but wasn't sure if i should fit the other lower half of rail covers so after a trial fitting the lower metal part of the sub-frame could still be seen and didn't look good so after a bit of struggle i managed to fit the lower half and this is the end result which i am happy with,

A couple of random picks of the rear arch's for you guys to have a ganda at,

Changed the horn push to this Turbo one,

Cleaned and fitted the stainless battery cover & new stainless L-piece its totally transformed the engine bay,

Pic from last week from when Champ was being mot'd,

Fresh new center consul bulbs fitted,

Top work and a cracking car, cant wait to see this for real next year at Billing.
If you had waited a month and taxed it 1st Oct you wouldnt have needed to display a tax disc at all or worry about finding a bit of loose change for a tax disc holder!!

Cheers Clive fingers crossed for billing mate yours should defo be done by then, regards to r/tax i couldn't wait another month to drive her this way it gives me a chance to iron out any teething problems.

Yesterday i changed the dizzy seal it was dribbling at first then it began to pour out it was really bad!! on removal i noticed it had broke so started to look around the garage as everything's scattered i couldn't find the spare seals i had purchased last year so eventually after searching i came across my spare distributor which had a new seal on so that was the ticket cleaned up the mess and fitted seal no more oil leak, next job coolant leak this went undetected for a while as the car never got up to temp properly the leak was from under the throttle body the coolant hose that goes from top of expansion tank to the 3 way thing under the tb what a barsteward to get at i changed the hose clip and nipped it up tight as i could from where i could get my hands in, got the car up to temp again and its still got a tiny bit of coolant coming from it but still its allot better than before i need to get at it when the car is on a ramp then i can take a look at a couple of other things and give the car a once over from underneath give everything a little nip up ie all the nuts and bolts.

Yes i guess you are right Tahir. If mine was finished i dont think i could put off getting behind the wheel for another month either. As for Billing yes there is no reason why i shouldnt have mine finished and be there. There should be no excuse given i've got until next July to get it completed but realistically i'm aiming for early next year / Spring at the very latest so i can start to enjoy it throughout next Summer.

Tiny update got myself a pillar pod sacrificed a spare A-pillar cover so i could fit the pod to boost gauge is plumbed in and functional now so i know what is going on also housed the wide band gauge to fill the gap its not wired up nor are the illumination wires for the boost gauge i will get round to that a bit later on once i have a lambda sensor bung welded into the turbo down pipe then wide band will be fitted and wired up and set up.

                            Also fitted these headlight protectors,

& this must be one of the most rarest parts that has taken me a very long time to source, lol i was trawling ebay deutschland and i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw it, i just had to have it!! the seller was very helpful even though he stated no uk bidders or uk shipping after a few emails translated via Google we came to an agreement and this arrived this morning..........

Astra gte 16v abs header tank with low level sensor

a pic of old verse's new, what a difference

                            Fitted with fresh coolant

whayhaaay buzzing now.......... im on the look out for another part from over the pond in Germany the seller has stated he wont post to uk so i sent him 2 messages to ask if he would post to my cousins address in Eindhoven, The Netherlands its been 4 days now he's still not replied looks like he doesn't want to play ball whatsoever and wont reply to my message's its ok i got someone else on the case so for now fingers crossed.
