engine is almost complete just waiting on rocker cover and spark plug cover to come back from sandblasting and painting
booth time is sorted I now need to get my arse into gear and strip the rest of the parts off the shell but to do that i need a nice dry weekend please !

Ok time to update my build thread been working onthe engine and its now ready to go hopefully stripping the shell back fully to go to the body shop next week

the block was ready from last year and has a new triple layer head gasket



and the head had been away to auto head recon in scotland they did a fantastic job on the head it looks like new





Tensioners replaced



Inlet cleaned and degreased ready to paint



inlet painted head on and throttle body cleaned





Cam cover sand blasted and repainted all breathers cleaned and replace



Timing Belt and pulleys on (timing is now set as this pic was before I set timing if anyone spots it )



Fuel rail and throttle cable holder cleaned painted and refitted



Cam cover refitted



Breather pipe and clips cleaned and refitted



Stainless bolt set fitted




All in all happy so far and the engine is ready to go back in once the shell is painted

Started stripping the shell down yesterday and decided to check down the inner rear compartments was very upset to find crispyness that my fingers pushed straight through on the inner box so had to order 2 new sills was hoping to not cut off the old ones as they are good outside looks like a full restoration now not just a patch up luckily engine bay just has a few scabs nothing through so far

2 x front wings
2 full sills
inner rear arches
outer rear arches 2 pairs
rear bottom pockets
rear light cluster

Are Klokkerholm panels any good ?

keep going mate. will be worth all the hard work. had one of my old ones split at bulk head like that and welded it like your and put plates in to strengthen it.

Their the panels I got, seem good quality. I was told they were the best/closest to oe.

I stripped the underside last night what a bitch the tank is to get off when the car is not on ramps !
discovered the tank is very rusty I will buzz it down and see if its holed anywhere can you still get tanks original or reproduction ?
also brake lines are rotten in 2 places so will have to put all new brake lines on after paint

I bought these as whas told there the best copys but i found them to be not so good a fit.

You can still get tanks yes, around the £100 mark with straps and seals
