Late Summer Astra Mk2 Bash and Trackday - Sunday Sept 2nd 2012

Have now arranged with Javelin Trackdays our late summer Astra Mk2 social and trackday.

It will be a mixed trackday with open pit lane between 9.30 and 12:30 and then 13:00 to 17:00. Can book onto the track by visiting http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/tr...chk=1&Itemid=1. The cost is £119 per car including main driver (additional driver passes are £20 and passenger passes are £5 each)

I have provisionally reserved 10 places on track - these are reserved until 1st August 2012 when they will be released to the general public.

The general idea is that there will be camping the night before (Sat 1st Sept) at a cost of £10pp for a social and then the trackday itself on the Sunday. Id like to get a decent turnout of people if we can manage a display of Mk2 Astras and anyone who wants to go on track in their vehicle as well. There is no cost for displaying your car - but you must be a club member and we may well have some kind of club-only BBQ there.

Please make any suggestions and put your name down together with what youll be doing and when your coming so I can get a general idea. I will keep a master list below:

I will attend and at Least I can find it now! Not sure if I will be bringing car to show or just attending as it depends on how well the restore goes over the summer but put me down as attending

There is a bit of a write up I did when RallyMarshal and myself attended Blyton Park back in October last year click here to read. It's a cracking circuit and very easy on cars with smooth tarmac and plenty of run off for novice drivers. I've now been there twice and thoroughly enjoyed myself on both occasions. If you have never had your car on track then I would say this is a great circuit to do it for the first time as it's a very safe circuit

Id like to book but are there rules on MOT etc ? Quite certain i can have it up and running by then BUT wether its on road im not to sure.

In short if its just a case of anything goes ill book because ill just throw it on back of truck and bring it

If not then ill have to leave it till last minute to see

"When you participate in this event you will be required to sign an indemnity form upon which you make the declaration that the vehicle you are using is in a safe condition for high speed circuit use. Whilst we will not be scrutineering vehicles we always reserve the right to deny circuit access to any vehicle we consider to be a risk to the occupants or other track users.

Unless your vehicle is a competition vehicle suitably prepped for its class then vehicles should be in a roadworthy condition.

Looking like this should be a good event. I've added my name to the list but i've not yet booked with Javelin. I've got to source and fit a new engine between now and then but hopefully shouldn't be a problem.
