Just seen the result of this recent auction:

£30k for a Mk2 Astra 16V and its not quite perfect. Do we think the values are finally catching up with the Fords from the era ?

They were about £13k brand new back in the day, interesting that really good examples are now worth about twice that.

Will be interesting to see where these end up at price wise. In the current economic climate its still very much a buyers market, so if you have the cash its a good opportunity to bag a bargain.

Saw this myself - hadn't seen the auction result from 2023 though, quite interesting.

Can't see MK2 GTE prices going as high or higher than the £30k or so that one sold for then, but what do I know.

bangers and cash restored 8v the hammer fell at 15k. (old news but this thread is useful )

There was a write up in Classic Cars magazine August 2024 issue for white GTE 16v, 58k, no service history, no paperwork to back up mileage and incorrect colour of wheel centre caps, but was described as a well maintained car. Was for sale with Craner Classics for £19,995.

Just by way of update this was corrected to an 8v but has now been withdrawn from the Wheeler Dealers auction on Sunday.
