Vuaxhall Cavalier SRi info and ideas.

I have been given a Vauxhall Cavalier SRi... yes given!.. I was surprised I must say but he has made me promise I restore it... so in return, if in the future he would like it back we would negotiate something.

I don't know the complete history but it was obviously imported and I believe it was an Auto but now a manual.

I don't take delivery till he has a new family car to replace it but I have been wondering what to do.

It's a 1.8L 8v and I still have my 2.0L 8v rally engine so I was thinking of upgrading it to a 2.0L as they come out with them... but I noticed there is the SRi 130.

What externally changes made the 130 different to the normal SRi to look at... I assume a badge but is there any other distinctive features.

What do you think? I'm going to make this my daily driver and if it doesn't have aircon etc I will fit it.

In the pics he has put a Opel badge on it.

think you have the wrong front bumper for an sri130, they had the more bulbous face lift version, yours is a gls/cdi type. it wouldve been all anthracite coloured lower half off all the body and mouldings including bumpers, fatter face lift grill wouldve been colour coded same as upper body. side graphics, rear badging, teardrop alloys like astra gte. think you are missing the side skirts (more of a lip skirt) and rear lower lip spoiler

Whats the chance of getting the SRi 130 front and the rear bumper lower lips or are the 130 Bumpers one piece? Also the grill are they still available?

they're in 3 bits, the bumper, apron and splitter

Thanks Baz... is the Bumper same as the standard one? If so it would make it cheaper to post to Australia..

They are...think they were the same on all facelift Cavs from LXi upwards

Took delivery of the Cav today... was fun and a good 100km drive home. Its pretty low geared with it doing 3500rpm at 100km/h but I have a std ratio box I can fit... makes it pretty zippy around town though

Drove great and I am looking forward to cleaning it up and doing a full retro on it.
