I am looking to get myself a proper GTE in a few weeks to bang out a little bit of work on and get sprayed for the summer, but insurance quotes are a bit of a killer. Im 19 with 2 years no claims, will be 20 in June and i really want to get rid of my replica for the summer! Can anyone recommend some decent insurance companies to try, that will insure someone under 21 on a 16v'er ?

Ahhh bugger, its always the way - I read a little further down on that HIC and due to young driver accidents they have also put their minimum age of insurance on 2.0 litre cars to 21. The quote for 2 grand i got is a little steep :|

Adrian flux insured me at 19 on a 16v GTE for about £1500 i think it was

Grab yourself the latest copy of Total Vauxhall and check out the companies in the back. I went with Brentacre who gave me a quote of £1200 for a 21y/o, 3yrs nc, tpft, 2lt 16v astra turbo.
And that was 2 years ago.

used to use adrian flux, now use HIC cheaper than everyone else (for me anyway). used them since 1999 when they quoted me £250 less than adrian flux

Shame that. I got my valver when I was 20 and insured it with them and it was just £1400 TPTF to insure in my name, 0ncb, 1 claim and 3 points.

21 now and I pay £650.

been having the same trouble mate phoned round every where looking , best quote i got was from DNA you will get there number in total vauxhall.

OK - I spoke to a guy at Adrian Flux and they got me a policy with a company called Highway. With 2yrs ncb at 19 it was £1025 tpft. Might be worth a look for anyone struggling. Thanks for the help lads!

might try highway for when i put an XE in mine, was gonna go with HIC but i am only 20!

Aye try DNA, they got me a good quote for my GTE Replica.....just hope they can deliver with my GTE 16v
