Astra GTE 16v Champion edition for sale

Owned this car for 6 years & now looking to buy a cruiser bike (I want 2 wheels again).
I will update when I have gathered all the infomation together (see my garage for pics).
This is an original, unmolested example. It won't go cheap because i'd rather keep it.

Sorry dancedj, i'm new to this. I was going to put a price on after I put all the cars history down.
Plus, i'm only using this site to sell as i'd rather the car go to an astra enthusiast rather than someone off ebay.
£4.5k at least anyway. She's not perfect but the closest anyone will get to an original, untouched example with 90k miles.

You're about right on the price & it's a lovely clean example that's worth every penny I'd say - you may also want to try car & classic or pistonheads to broaden your audience
If I didn't have 2 Champions already I'd be after this one mine has 180k on the clock but spent a lot on it already so can't swap bits over again!

I dare say you'll struggle at £4.5K. Not because the car isn't worth it just because cash is drying up everywhere at the moment. I've been dragging my heels getting my white one ready and that's coming back up with a big price drop. Before Xmas I'd have said differently.

Fiona's/Pocket's Bordeaux car looked to worth every penny at 3250 but didn't even see £2300 on Ebay and that's only got a genuine 68 (I think) K miles on it.

Mental really.

Totally agree with your comments about price.
It's hard not to be greedy though. It's cost me nothing over the last 6years so I would just keep her if the price isn't right.
You all know the reliability of these cars & I do have a scraper for over the winter months so she's worth alot to me personally.
Do any of you know if I can edit my thread? I want to add the history etc. I've got all the documents here now to do.

Just go to your first post and use the edit option - if you were not in a hurry to sell I would be interested but I have a champion of my own to finish & sell first plus the work I had done on my 2nd already cost me £500+

there have been afew people jumping on this site not so long back and demanding a champion gte practically!! Look at the old wanted threads you might find someone.

Are you going to be putting up the spec of the car....upgrades/re-newed parts/welding or other work done etc etc?

This helps because people do know their weak points and if these have already been addressed properly then it might help sell it as a buyer might not wont all the bother of doing the bulkhead, arches, sills etc

Looks a minter in the pictures if you have kept it this long I would hang on a little longer as these cars are mainly bought as summer/ weekend cars and at the moment people are hanging on to the cash they have. I'm sure this will sell if it's as good in reality as it is in the pictures

Morning Mark2, u'll all have to bare with me as i only get on the internet at work.
I have 2 kids who take up alot of my time at home.
I've updated my garage a little bit & i will be putting more on about the car etc.
As to your question about spec & work done. Its original spec, no modifications, no upgrades, no new panels, welding etc. Its all original. Check my garage for picture of the spare wheel. It's not been touched. Still has the line around the tread.
She is starting to get the dreaded car cancer. rear arches slighty bubbling on underside, driver side wing slightly rusting but nothing major.
We have the past 4 owners to thank for the cars condition. The underside of the car has been waxed quite often & i've kept it garaged & used on nice days only.

I got in touch with them a few months back when they had a red 16v for sale.
As you can see on their website they have sold some nice GTEs.
They also told me they had a one owner champion from London which a woman had which they sold.

In my opinion i think a GTE 16v in show condition these days should be worth £4.5 k easy an RS turbo series 1 is worth almost triple in show condition.If you can just hold out bud people that want a 16v champ or a standard gte for that matter in show car condition should just have to front that kind of cash or they buy a rot box and spend 4 k doing it up.We need to be getting a bit firmer with the price of these cars folks as it is only the owners that can change this or we will be forever losing out!Everything else is going up MK2 gti's and Rs turbos and people forget the MK2 GTE 16v was the fastest of them all back in the day don't go lower than 4k in my opinion

ye agree also but i honestly dont think it ll achieve those kind of prices, for whatever reason gtes just havent developed the status that the RS etc have, to be honest one of my dream cars is an audi quattro ur and the mk2 escort RS but i could never afford a decent example of either. As much as i love gtes - the styling, the driving experience, the way they just look so bloody good sitting there! Unfortunatley there are car snobs everywhere who will always say its still just a vauxhall!!
