  • **E346 JGV 3.0 V6 24v - Work in progress**

Just a bit of an update I had alot of things planned for the GTE but due to work commitments and working on the other GTE 16v time has been against me but the summer is on the way back so it was due an airing, with a new MOT under its belt and years tax

Got a few things done recently

Courtney Billet flywheel and Replacement Uprated Clutch
Mental Note: do not try and start in 2nd gear when dragging

Replaced my failing 4 bar fuel regulator with a new one, starting losing fuel pressure sorted now

And fitted a set of the now cheap as chips Soft stars, great fit and at least the brake can breath now lol,

Well everyone else is so way not me too lol

Set of Mk3 GSI astra alloys for sale anyone ????

Also got the Irmscher Lock nut strongly advised great piece of kit, the best I have seen in a while, wet nights flat wheel side of road you get the picture lol

the car should be getting a fresh layer of paint in the winter when repairing the arches they are not bad but left they would I am considering painting the plastics Graphite Grey as with the best intention in the world I can not bring them back form the dead faded like hell ANY SUGGESTION WELCOME???

Also as a previous thread I will be trying to fit equal length shafts to go along with my recently installed ATB diff, be gone torque steer lol

And dont worry Dan your baby is in good hands

Will keep you all informed of the progress and get as many pics you as I can

    Cheers

    Alex

Nice to see it still looking clean Alex.

That flywheel looks soooo much nicer than the XE one I'm running on mine, shame really you can't see it now it's fitted.

Its treated like a baby Ian along with the Nova and other White 16v

Lol @ flywheel I will take the inspection cover off the bottom of the gearbox and replace it will perspex lol

Hopefully is works this time I may have to consider a paddle clutch but then the drivability starts to disappear which is the best point of this car

Dandares old V6? Very nice pair of GTEs there and the Softstars really suit it. All my grey plastics have been painted Anthracite - looks so much nicer than dull plastic and really easy to keep clean

Ah thats where l've seen it then. Mine is being put back together as we speak after a full respray so everything has just been redone but the plastics were all done by a previous owner a few years ago. There were a few chips but nothing very noticeable. As far as l can tell, all the plastics were rubbed down, plastic primered and the painted in 2K. Thats how l've had them re-done anyway

Heres how it looked before the stripdown
