  • Black spark plugs (20XE) could it be a temperature sensor

Hi all four of my sparkplugs are blackened. Its a standard 16V GTE. Could a temperature sensor be making the ECU think the engine is cold? The car runs fine but the spark plugs are black and not grey. The intake, injectors etc are all standard.

    So the cylinder pressures are:

    1 - 15.8 bar
    2 - 16.2 bar
    3 - 15.8 bar
    4 - 14.8 bar

I'll double check later, but from memory, both of mine have four take-offs from the positive post - the main feed, the one to the starter/alternator, one to the headlamp washer relay and one to the horns relay. You seem to have an additional one, so it could be something that's been added (eg. alarm, or someone has relayed the headlamps) or I've missed one. Yours has ABS whereas I have never had one with ABS, so perhaps there's something there too.

I took another picture but was not as good as the first. Yes I added an additional 12V take goes into the passenger footwell into a cigarette socket thing so I can power things that way.
