Had half a day of caddy action yesterday afternoon hoping to have it on the road by the end of the year. My mate ben's (In the pics) sister is using it as her wedding car next year so need to get a move on. It was on the road breifly when he bought it about 4 years ago but due to several issues it has been stood for most of that time. Many parts have been collected and now its full steam ahead on the body and paint so we can get it built up. It needs a little welding but is very solid for one of these! Worst bit is the bed is missing but we are thinking of something nice in oak in its place

The caddy in better days with my old police spec mk3 merit v6

Mint tailgate too which is a big bonus these go for lots of money

Been cleaning up the floors not too bad at all

Roof was a git had primer ontop of original paint then lots of matte black

Getting there now another day of prep then she should be good

Nice solid-looking Caddy that. I had a rare 1800 Sport one for a brief time but it was an utter shocker and I had to get shot within a few weeks of having it. Kinda ruined the idea of them for me sadly. Still think they are cool though!

This one is very solid, couple of poo but solid bits of welding on the floor but otherwise rust free. the bulhkead area is good just coverd in seam sealer and bitumen. It will look good got it back to original paint all down one side now got a few nice parts to fit including some ronal turbo's FTW.

Had a bit of time to give the gte some love today so decided to remove the drivers skirt after summoning up the courage! Not really anything to worry about as it happens so i just wire wheeled the surface rust straightened out the sill edge at the front jack point. then rust treated primed and then added copious amounts of paint as the idea here is not to get the best finish but to get some decent coverage.

So sill off looks good this end

                    Middle..... check still there

Front some surface and a bit of crust on the wing but nothing major

Thats better see you next year

                    Much better

Fitted the boot handle and the lower bumper trim and re-installed the central locking and original boot lock as it was annoying having to put the key in the lock to open it every time.

went to the local stealers too and found one of these to park next to They had a white one in the showroom but unfortunately i couldn't persuade them to get it out for a photo

That could have been easy solved .... get them to let you take your's in to the showroom?

Good work on the sills, I really must pop my plastics off and look see how well the waxoil has held up, you can never have enough protection under there.

I thought they might be keen for a photo opp themselves but they are all souless black hearted bstwards. A big old chevy bell ait turned up and stole my thunder somewhat too, shame as it would have been nice to get a white mk6 and my car together. Yea that reminds me laurie i need to get some waxoil inside mine !

Managed to get a few little jobs done here and there over the last couple of weeks been busy as anything with work but still managed to fit in some time for the gte.

                            Finally fitted the fogs !!!!

While the bumper was off i fitted the painted grill and found out i had a temp sensor zip tied to the headlight washer tubing

So connected it up and hey presto! Deg f too which i love !

Also fitted a new cts as they are about a tenner on trade club and it is one of the few things i haven't replaced also changed the oil and filter while i was at it as this engine has done nearly 5000 miles since it was changed.

Also decided to fit my mk3 legs and konis as i am not too happy with the current b4 spax arangement. Also i have 2 nearly new gm mk3 strut top mounts and bearings.........and i cant take one of my mk2 struts apart without destroying the shock and top mount due to my stupidity and rushing to change shocks for mot

Couldn't resist painting the bearing plate thingys

Also fitted the proper header tank so no T piece anymore YAY !

And had a nice 2 day incident free 350 mile round trip to devon and back on monday and tuesday.

Was trying to get a pic of the gte with the sea in the background as it was really blue but was finding it hard a random pub provided a slight peek
