        Re: bartrums 16v

had a back to black day today

first job was to get rid of the biege. IT didn't take too long the car feels and looks loads better. Also fitted a new lock set as well.

Took the alloys off that it came with as they were catching on the rear arches, when I got the off they had et37 stamped on the back. Fitted my old cav gsi rims, these were painted anthracite to go on my first bordeux red gte and i'd forgot how much they suited it.
Used a scotchbrite pad to rub down all the bumpstrips and skirts and gave them a coat of bumper gel to keep them dark and replace the front towing eye cover

last job to do was give it a good wash, hover and a quick polish then have a run out and get some pics

I bet that leather fetches a few pennies though! It looks mint.

it did have a "buy it now" on it earlier of £600, i'll get meself a statement tomorrow, i've lost track of all the money i've spent this week.

if I can afford it that means i'll have a 83k champion for £1500

Bargain price on the motor, looks in great nick, clean and quite low miles. I'm sooo jealous!

I was going to fit my stereo but it was too hot to be sat in a car all day so all I managed to do was fit the front strutbrace and start to finish off my rocker cover

took the old paint off with nitromors, then started sanding them down starting with coarse stuff gradually moving down to 2000 then polishing up with autosol.

Its pretty easy once you get into it, the worse bit is stripping the old paint off as some of it doesn't want to budge.

The sparkplug cover is a piece of piss to do, strip the old powder coating off with paint stripper paint it whatever colour you want, then use a sanding block to take the paint off the letters back down to the metal
