Nope. Well, not really. They are mounted on a pair of balls and sockets, the theory being that under impact they pop loose (eg. if you were to smack it against a tree branch on a tight lane). Once loose, they are meant to hinge whichever way they are pushed on a type of bracket. To reattach them, you line them up and give them "a sharp blow", to quote the handbook, to re-engage the balls in the sockets.
I know why you're asking, you have a tight garage I bet! I'm in a similar position, the garage is quite big but has too many cars in it. Unless you only move the car a few times a year, detaching the mirrors will soon get boring. I suspect the 35+ year old plastic holding the balls and sockets will pretty quickly give up the ghost too, and you'll be left with dangling broken mirrors.

They're not particularly wide cars by modern standards though to be fair. I parked a 2012 Corsa in the same space once and that seemed a damn sight harder.
At the risk of being facetious, buy yourself an '84 to '86 base or L model. You didn't get a passenger mirror on those so that's probably 6 inches saved!

hopefully I ll be able to get round it although I am a bit concerned my garage is narrow.
