i'd give an update, but there really isnt one. i dont have any money left to do anything to it, my New car ( Vectra ) has been sucking all my money away to fix the problems it had when i bought it like head gasket plus oil leak from somewhere that wont stop leaking.

Im seriously thinking on going on facebook asking for £1 donations via paypal or something to get it kick-started. 3000 donations plus would be nice

a basic summary on what needs doing:

Internal Rear arches/Wells need reshaping, cos the wheels are rubbing.

Front End needs a general tidyup, & the Bonnet re-aligning so it stops fouling the Smoothe scuttle ive got. the brackets are already at the maximum

Front bumper Needs a proper bracket making for the side walls, & the front lower lip has been damaged by stones & scuffage.

                    Respray

& thats about it. once all thats done, itll be ready to drive about. a bloody good donation/feature/sponsorship from some of these rich-ass mags would be a bonus

Right, time to revive the thread a little. yes, ill be continuing with the mk2/3 conversion at some point in the year, but first things first, i need to sort out the engine.

so after buying a new car on ebay, & it starting with a spec i wanted ( almost ), i thought i'd start tinkering with it, to adapt it to my needs, rather than the previous owners needs.

Today, the bearings ive been searching for, for almost a week, for the dif, have arrived today. the smaller F20 bearing is still made. its that larger F28 one, that seems to be the bugger to find. ( 50mm x 80mm x 21mm approx. )So after an email to http://www.simplybearings.co.uk, that elusive NSK R50-30g bearing together with the JL 69349 x 310Q, they were ordered.

so next month, its off to TomGTE's garage in england, to get the dif fitted.

just need a press of somesort to get these bearings on.

A very tidy and fresh looking car! Wonderfull

Reminds me of my old white one, I did the same to the filler cap and colour coding ect.
Returned GTE to default settings : On axle stands

finally got my new black plates fitted, & de-stickered them horrendos branding stickers. Now i just gotta sort that knocking from the drivers side front wheel, whatever that may be, & the central locking, as that seems to have stopped working. which is strange, cos i can here the relay box ticking away & the lights are still flashing when locking/unlocking...........

ok this past week, i drove to england to get some upgrades fitted to the car. the first being, ripping out "most" of the beige interior, & swopping it outta my black one for the black interior. From start to finish, it took me 7 hours, from ripping both interiors (including carpets but excluding dash), to refitting.

the only thing i got stuck, was the rear window surround, as that goddamn rollcage was far too tight against it, for me to slip behind it. & i didnt have the time, nor my 3-tonne jack to get underneath & unbolt the cage from the rear arch wells.

Oh, & the seats as much lower this time, much better for me, & notice them ultra-rare TVR stalks

On Wednesday it was off for some gearbox work at Tom's garage, for a Z20LET lightened flywheel & Helix clutch upgrade ( a saving of 2kg ) PLUS this badboy fitted

which nearly turned out to be a nightmare, as i decided to put the spacer on the wrong way, so was freakin' out, & drove all the way to Simplybearing, to get another R50-30g Bearing ( yes, that rare large one for the F28 ) as it was probably gunna get mangled taking it off.

but Tom prevailed, & it was saved ( & i now have a spare ) & its all in. Tom may update the thread of the work he did, unless he emails me the pics.

So i now have a speedo that works, Quaife dif fitted, lightened & balanced flywheel, & after an intermittent misfire, i swopped the dissy & rotar arm off my old one, which was all brand spanking new, to this white one, the misfire has gone.

so I'm back in Guernsey, & looks whats arrived from the postie!!

a one-off from courtenay Turbo on making the powersteering 8v crank pulley wheel, & a turbo from a mig member thats gunna be good for upto 29PSi LOL

Brand new, never used, so in couple months, ill get the manifold, & take it from there.
