Think those above are the post-2001 codes, eg, "FS02 XXX" would be "Forest and Fens, Lincoln"

These are the pre-2001 codes; eg, my SR, "C649 RPG", the PG is the code, which translates to Guildford, the local office. The car was registered by the dealer in Woking nearby.

That one looks right and so does pigeonrat's, FT comes back as Newcastle Upon Tyne which I know is 100% correct.

As John says, yes last two, the plate I looked up ends "LFT".
