Hi Guys,
I’m running Koni with I think 40mm spax lowering springs. Iv recently got the car out from being in storage for about 20 years. Now I don’t know if I just didn’t care when I was younger or it maybe it’s just my age, but the ride is horrendous, you literally feel every pebble. I don’t remember it being that bad, but I may have been. So as the title says whats the go to suspension these days. I won’t be tracking and I still want it lowered. Any feed back and links are welcome.

as for your question, a tried and tested route for allot of gte owners (and i mean allot !) is mk3 astra gsi eibach pro. they are slightly higher spring rate due to them being designed for heavier car, which means it stiffens things up for us, but doesnt lower it dramatically.

i have B8, they are high quality mono tube gas dampers, they also have reduced droop travel (how far the shock absorber extends) specifically designed for lowered cars.

I need new suspension all round on my 1987 SRi, I've read that a lot of people are using the MK3 GSI Eibach pro springs but can I go for the MK2 GTE Bilstein dampers or do they have to be GSI as well? I was thinking of these, B6 for the GTE:

MK3 Gsi eibach springs with MK2 Gte Bilstien dampers will be fine, if you buy MK3 Gsi Bilstien dampers then you will have to change your top mounts and spring seats set up..... 2,3,4,5,6,7 in the diagram to accommodate the MK3 dampers as the front damper pistons are bigger in diameter and won't fit through the holes of spring seat and the top mount....

HI Guys, its been a while, over year, bloody hell. The car had to be put on hold as I had more important things going off with the business, covid etc. Anyhow all is good and the car has my attention again. I think I'm going to go with the blistein 8 and after some searching I don't seem to be able to find anyone with them. I also need some lowering spring togo with them. Does anyone know the best place for to order parts?
