  • Nitrous to a GTE

Hi, I have recently bought an astra gte 8v 1989 edition. It is very good in the low revs but i want to boost power in the high revs without buying a C20let engine or fiting a hybrid turbo.

Basically i am thinking of getting dyno tune nitrous kit with wet shot. I am tuning the car for use on a track rather than road or on a field so anything to boost higher rev power will be good.

I want to know if the gte block is strong enough to withstand wet shot nitrous from time to time? Thanks

In answer to your question an 8V block will run happily with nitrous as long as it is in good running order and you fit a high quality nitrous kit. Have a look on http://www.noswizard.com/bboard/ for details

Although for track use I'd say cams and headowrk is the better choice as the N20 would run out in no time. But the sensible money is on fitting a 16V XE.
