Hi, I think I might only find this out by taking the head off but here goes: on my 16V. I had the head worked to have three angle valves....now sometime later the valves all got mangled when the cambelt slipped and all the valves were replaced. Would the garage have ground the three angles on the new valves? - Because the seats would have been ground to match the thee angle valves I assumed that they would have had to have ground the new valves to match. Would anyone know if my reasoning follows?

it sounds like your are thinking 3 angle valve seats are like this.

when in actual fact they are like this. the valves have one angle, its the seats that have 3, the valve seals on the middle of the 3 cuts and the middle of the 3 angles will be a standard 45 degrees seat angle. so short answer is nothing would need to be recut, but they wouldve needed lapping in
