  • Fuel Tank Vent Valve

While searching for solutions for my rough idle once the engine warms up, I noticed that my car does not have a Fuel tank vent valve. So I went out and bought a used one. What troubles me is that, if i blow into one of the pipes, the air escapes through the other one. I thought it was supposed to be closed and no air should go through unless the ECU supplies 12v to the pins? Correct me if I'm wrong please.

    I forgot to mention, C20XE engine M2.5

Can you please be more specific? By opposite way around, you mean with the arrows ? Or that it's open all the time and the ECU closes it?

i cant be more specific than say the thing in your photo is not a fuel tank vent valve.

by opposite way around i mean the hot start valve is naturally open, ecu closes it. fuel tank vent valve is naturally closed and ecu opens it.
