  • Removing trim around roof lining

Ok I want to remove the pieces of plastic trim around the roof lining in the rear section of the car, so above the rear quarter windows and along where the hatch is. Is there a specific way the plastic comes off? I get the impression its clips of some kind but I also get the feeling i'm going to break them all trying to get them off.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

yeah they get brittle and either bust in half or break the hooks on the actual trim panel. unfortunately theres no art to it other than just pulling down. you cant get special trim levering tool (like a big flat 2 pronged fork) so it concentrates the pulling right around the clip (rather than the whole trim) but doesnt stop you breaking 20 year old brittle plastic clips.

the clips are like little comb/barbed shaped objects, bit like the round trim poppers in the boot, but oblong shaped. visually they appear to be identicle to the clips for the A pillar trim (bits down the sides of the windscreen)
