can i use the shaft off the 16v? or just not bother and keep my gte one?

I thought the columns were all the same on the Mk2 as long as it was adjustable type. In fact I know a few people that have put 16v leather wheels on 8v cars just fine. I've got a Cally wheel on mine. So there must be some other issue. Maybe one of the cars had the wrong column fitted at some point?

pretty sure all the coloums are all the same on mk2's apart from adjustable/non adjustable height. i have used a mk3 coloum on my gte, all ok.

You shouldn't have to force it, it just drops on really.
