If I wanted to use these wheels I would need to get them crack tested first as they are magnesium and can crack but i'm happy just using them for display. When I use the car it will have the Compomotive wheels on.. I've posted a picture of the brakes on this page, they are plenty big enough..

fantastic !
you can just make out 195 on the side which was Irwin Weber and Gunter Wangers car have a picture of it somewhere with the front clam missing flung into the dessert !
so process of elimination and a bit of speculation, does that mean Johns original car was the colsoul / lopez vehicle ?!! v. interesting.
have a favour to ask you actually Mick, i was gonna make a John welch photo dump for the members article section but getting confused with the age of vehicles versus the livery ? i know they built the ex paris dakar car at the end of 87, and had two cars at the end of 88, theres an article that he was going to attack the euro rallycross in tandem with british. can definitely tell the early photos with the above car, and can tell the 92/93 car, but in between is confusing ! do you know roughly ?Last edited by DarrenH; 30-11-2015, 07:34 PM.

I have seen that as well as the two cars they brought over they were supposed to have brought a bare shell which would have made 5 in total.. I will ask Mike Endean when I speak to him next but that would be the shell that Gartrac chopped around and John used when he totalled the P.D car.. I have seen some of the pictures that Mike has from back then showing them restoring the other car for himself which is 194, the picture above is 195 and I think that is the one John used for rallycross.. I got the impression 194 wasn't used in rallycross, just for display as although it was painted up in rallycross livery at one point.. John transferred the running gear to the spare shell after the crash at Lydden Hill and carried on with that car to the end although it had a few makeovers along the way.. I have the moulds for the various front ends they used at this time.. I could be wrong with this of course
