Long time no update. Sorry for that. Been busy with a lot of small things which takes ages, but also finished a few things so can scrap them from the endless list...
I've finished the fuel system except on one item. Fuel pressure sensor. Need to buy that one. It will come on the feed line to the rail, near the fuel pressure regulator.
OEM set up to be used as feed pump. I did not use the standard Gates fuel lines as I found some nylon braided ones a few days later. Looks more OEM :P
Ordered a shitload of couplings and lines at Torques to finish my set up. Bit of a gamble but hope the set up will do for my engine.
Bosch 044, swirlpot, filter, bulkhead to the OEM pump and tank. And the lines incl brackets to the front of the car.
Battery is in the car too. One 50mm2 cable is going to the front of the car, and one 50mm2 direct to chassis. The positif + one is going to the mainswitch and from there the front of the car.
Found someone who designed something to get the F28 cable shifted. Looked nice on video. (setup was a gearbox, 2 cables and a shifter.
So I've bought the "mechanism" and looked it looked okay. So I've bought a CAE shifter and started measuring the 2 shiftcables. Got them custom made and then.....
He forgot to mention and incl. my own stupid mistake that the gearbox is way to close to the firewall. (or how do you call it)... So impossible to get the cables fixed without hitting the wall.
Made myself a bracked, and bought a space bushing for one cable and it finally was in place.. (cost me hours and hours and swearing because it is impossible to reach)
It is shifting now "ok" ... Bit heavy (also due to the very short shifter mechanism). I have to finetune it a bit. But for that I want the engine to run so the gearbox is more comfortable...
So as it was 6 steps back and 1 foward anyway I've decided to redo my mid console. The first one was not to my standards so took the change.
New aluminium frame
Incl main switch and 2 space holes for some future switches which are now blanked off by a rubber tule..Also changed the robust starter button for a small simple one, ass it only have to power up a relais.
Got some Belgium guy to make me some carbon fiber sheets. approx 1 mm thick. Made a wooden example and after that cut the carbon sheet to size. (cut it with a "metal sheet scissor")
Just need to fit them permanently after I have tested the windows. This can take place after all the wiring is done and no fires will occur
A friend of mine painted the timingbelt cover for me.
And last..
Got my parts back from Zircotec. And finally could fit my parts permanently. Also made the oil return, but forgot to make a photo.
This was it for now.... Hopefully soon more but.... Well you know. I'm not that fast.......................
Car is running.....
Have a few short video's but once on Imgur uploaded I have no sound.. ?
I found a very small leakage on a frost plug, or how do you call that. Will be fixed, when I will put in back up, so I can get under it.
When ordering my ecu, they uploaded a start and running map on the ECU, so when I primed the fuel and oil lines it started immediately fortunately.
Few photo's from the last months.
Bought a KMS system from Duxe Engine Works. (who will also map the car when it is checked for leaks etc.)
Wiring up, my favorite job... (not)
Fit all the sensors etc.
Double map sensor, as it is not preferred to use the map sensor from the gauge, so they told me..
