Re: GTE valver fast road/track car project

Finished building the quick rack yesterday afternoon but had a few problems getting the centre tube for the bellows on the rack as it was a bit tight over the n/s outer bellow tie wrap area, ended up grinding a bit off the rack then about half an hour later everything was complete

Completed quick rack with naked OE rack behind

      Damper unit bolted in place

      Deflex o/s mount

Deflex n/s mount plus moded OE end rubber

Re: GTE valver fast road/track car project

Disappointment set in on Thursday when I got a call to say the GTE won’t be ready Saturday, oh well.

I have been a busy bee over the last couple of weeks and bought some stuff off eBay

Snap off adaptor, don’t know how long it will last with the extra weight from the quick rack but I’ll try it anyway

HT leads brand new and red!

After speaking with Brett he advised that he got his dash flocking kit from www.frost.co.uk so I promptly ordered myself enough to cover mine

Flocking kit plus extra flock and glue

Due to the GTE not being ready I popped to my local scrap yard and got hold of some useful kit as well as the usually bits and pieces I didn’t got down for

Steel 2ltr 8v sump now fully restored and painted in black Hammerite, I’m getting an oil return pipe welded just above the sump plug so the catch tank will drain back into the sump and thus saving time manually emptying it and getting messy

Catch tank courtesy of the Daewoo Nexia, it’s a PAS bottle if you hadn’t already guessed

Shroth crotch straps have also arrived

Hey mate, just a btw you get alot of condensate in the catch tank and you dont really want the watery oily crap going back to your sump, my advice is ditch it doesnt fill up too quickly.

I'll take the advice on board Kenny.

Just ordered myself a propper battery box that will be located behind the passenger seat and a underdrive single v alloy pulley from Trevor at www.rscmotorsport.com will post pictures when they arrive.

Popped down to the body shop at lunch time today and they were just sealing the seams before painting, hopefully getting it back tomorrow.

Thanks to my keen eyes scouring the for sale section and Kev Read for selling them I now have a set of TAS engine mounts coming my way.
