  • Value?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I didn't think I should put it in the for sale category. I am thinking about selling, but I'm not really sure what my car is worth so was hoping for some advice / opinions. Please can mods move it to the for sale page if that's more appropriate.

It's a Mk2 Astra GTE 2.0 8v, 1987 E reg. It has done just short of 62k miles with old MOTs to prove. New rear arches in early 2014, along with a partial respray (if we're being picky it could do with both sides fully respraying). The interior is very good, no wear on the bolsters etc. Very original condition in and out, it even has the original dealer number plates, except it has an aftermarket exhaust at the moment but I also have an original. I've replaced various bits and bobs while I've had it including brake discs / pads, 4 new tyres (the back ones were still the originals!), ignition coil, some fuel lines, etc.

I'm the 3rd owner. The first owner was an elderly couple who had the car up until 2013. It was then bought by a trader who's specialism was fast Fords, when it had just 47k on the clock. He decided to sell and I bought it Christmas 2013, and used it as my daily driver until 2015 when it had done 61k. It has always been garaged since I've owned it, and only came out of retirement last summer, with a full service, and doing about 500 miles. MOT has just expired as I wasn't planning on driving it this summer (2 kids!)

I had a figure in my head of around 6k but I don't know if I'm way off with this, so any opinions would be welcome. There are very few around on ebay etc and some seem to be going for silly money.

    Thanks, Mark

value really depends on the condition of the shell, the critical structural areas and the inconvenient cosmetic ones. to make those (abnormal) silly money in your ebay examples it would need to be in exceptional condition

Thanks, yes I thought as much. It's not exceptional, but it's not bad either, and is fairly solid (I think!)
