Miles Per Gallon

I've got an F reg. 1.3 merit mk2, and not much cash to throw around, so i'd love to know a rough mpg!

any ideas anyone?

similar models mpg would be helpful just to get an idea!
a list of all mk2 mpgs (generalised estimates of course) would make a great sticky??

on average, mine usually guzzles about 20 miles to the gallon ,

i guess yours will probably do about 38-40 mpg?

I'd guess at somewhere between 30-40mpg depending on how it's being driven, where it's being driven and condition of engine etc..

LOL My hand book says I should be getting 49.5 MPG (@56mph) on my run to work. I think not.

I'm getting around 28mpg - 1600 twin 40's

If you have the 5 speed box a 1.3 with the Pierburg carb running ok should give you about 40 mpg

Nope, I have the 4 speed beastie. so im guesing 30-40 by most counts?

On a seperate note, Ive just driven it for the first time. first car I've driven since i passed. glorious. envy me! (or not)

On the 1200 OHV 4 speed, I would manage about 38 mpg around town. Also around 43 mpg on dual carriageway/motorway runs, (provided you stick between 60-70 mph).

I've got no idea about mine, it's probably still on its second tank of fuel since the V6 went in. That said I'd be shocked if it was below 28mpg, as most of the time I've been rather relaxed with the old girl.

Mine didnt, but then again I do drive fast, and am not bothered about consumption tbh..
