View Full Version : 16v Rear axle on conv.
Starting to collect bits for my rear axle now
Ordered braided brake hoses and uprated bushes
Picked up a bargin on ebay the other day;

£16 for the pair, going to take them to work and cross drill them.
Things to get are:
Wheel bearings
brake pads
brake shoes
I'll post some photo's on here as i fit it.

how much was your hose?
Do you mean the copper pipe or the braided hose set?
The hose set cost £35 ish
I got the pipe a while ago and can't remember how much is was.
(I've collected the bits over the last two years)

not been it any rush to get the 16v beam fitted then! lol.
No not really
But finally got it fitted today. I'm to knackered now, but i'll post some pics up tomorrow.

you out bid me on them hoses how much was the postage as he did not list it
Not me m8 i bought the hose set about a year ago, i think i payed about £35 for them.

tried the brakes out yet or have you got to bed them in a bit first?

No i got them of ebay for £16 a pair :D
got the axle for nothing, spent about £150 on new bits for it.
Just got to sort out the front brakes now

Good one Grak, that's one of the job's I've got to do. Seems fairly simple. Like you I'm going to service, clean and paint the beam before fitting, any tips?

It wasn't to bad to do m8, the only problem could be is the brake pipe unions being seized on then it could be a pain to do.
Luckly mine came apart quite easliy :D
It was nice using new bits to assemble the axle.

Hi Grak bit off topic but what are the side skirts that you have ou your car ? nice job by the way
