Cool mod to bring your mk2 up to date a tiny bit!

The other day a daewoo nexia (astra mk2) came in to our work for repair.
I noticed that around the top of the door shut it had a additional rubber strip that was stuck to it. Later cars have these to reduce wind noise.
So I orderd some for my astra!


They only cost £23 for the pair!


They take 5 minutes to fit.


And there you go! Dont know if they actially cut down wind noise yet but it looks a bit mre up to date(ish). Then again its probley already been done

Got these of 'astra champ'. They were covers and needed a bit of cutting and fillering to get on, but works been slow so it gave me something to do.

thats a good idea looks good and could also make it harder for theiving little

****s , how did you fit the rubber strip ?? im guessing on the nexia's they will have holes

for clips to be placed threw to hold the rubber in place and the astras wont

so how did you fit them ??

They come with self adhesive (spelling?!) strips, just stick them on.

Also noticed that the nexias have side impact bars if anyone wants to drive with a bit more protection.

ill have some of those strips aswell mate, di you get them from deawoo?? if so got any partnumbers and ill order me self some from work

Got them from toomeys, which do both vauxhall and daewoo parts.

i noticed them on a nexia the other week also change the windscreen seal for the nexia one it look so much better, its like the mk3 one where it sticks up on the sides

They were spot welded in.



You could put the nexia door on, but then you would have those crap door handles. The other option would require cutting off the door skin, welding it in and then fitting a new astra door skin.

Strange, i tought Mk2 Astras had that impact bars from factory.

My Lemans has them.

thanks for the heads up on those rubbers. think ill go get some. as for the windscreen,think ill get that too.
