I get why they didn't galvanise the lower spec models but I don't understand why they didnt galvanise the higher spec models like the 16v GTE for exsample. But then again for exsample Vaux didn't galvanise the cali up untill about J reg and even then it was an exterior coat!Comment

Grak, Where are you finding these pictures? any chance of seeing any more? i've become quite interested in that side of things!
I've been aquiring some brochures with some plant photos in, one of which is purely about the MK2 assembly process at the Ellesmere Port plant! (Vaux Brochure no: V6074)
...shows from cutting the steel sheets, to pressing the panels, body assembly and welding, spraying, engine trim, suspension fitment, through to Waxoiling the finished article! bloody good book!
Will try and scan it in and post the pages here.
