Paulys astra and the stay at kevs house

Just as I get Ronins astra finished and my champ gets it home back, Paulys astra has started to sqwat in it!!!

Arrived today being towed in (by the way dont lend Paul a tow bar) by another car, Poor Pauls astra LET. At first glance its obvious where he got the idea for his astra (['cougth'' my astra ;cougth;';)

Very much like Paul the car has head problems, so Dr.Kev must perform a triple head gasket bypass amoung other things. Ill keep anyone who wants to see this cars progress informed on these pages. Heres some boring pics I took today:-

However its a diffrent story for the head. This is just one of the blows, it was leaking all over the place! It was fitted with a cometic steel layerd head gasket which if fitted to a non true surface will leak like this. Did you have the block checked before it went on?

i had a fully ported and polished head, my cambelt snapped last year and i got a whole new engine for spares. the old head was £580 from autosprint in birmingham

any way looks like my old mechanic nicked my old head, and my old JE pistons (£480). and rebuilt what was left, im lucky he still left me with my kent cams kit!!!!!!

Si- Im not sure what to do i have a couple of plans that involve not very nice people and not very nice things but i have to think it through, im not one of these hasty people!!


latest news, dropped head off this morning to Henrick @ v-tuning, will be back with me next week fresh as a daisy, the dosy dick ex-mechanic also put a cometic head gasket on previously but with an extra layer of steel which looks like the culprit for all the problems

no mate, he did the head in the first place, my old mechanic down my way, stole that and some pistons, and replaced them!!!

Ok, time for a update. Paul dropped off the head to me the other day after he picked it up from the v-tuning boys. He also dropped off a black dash that he wants me to change over for the beige one. While he was down he had a go at painting the engine bay which is now completely boll*cksed :wasntme:
So if you see it at a show or scrap yard, that was him not me.
Anyway, I was going to put the head on tonight, but I forgot the correct torx bit :duh: so that will be dont tomorrow. So I put the black dash in instead. And thats about it for now. Heres some pics.

At last the nightmare GTE is almost done (my end anyway). Got it all back in one piece and it starts......just! Paulys plugs are f**ked and one of them is not working at all. Nice one Paul.
