Engine block paint

What do you guys paint your engine block in? im asking because ive a spare one and i need to wire brush the rust off it then paint it , obviously engine laquer is fine ...but what do protect it from ? is there a heat proof rust preventer or do you just laquer the block?

Black's a pretty easy colour, goes with anything, or so my missus tells me. Red seems to have been done to death, although I still like it.

It'd be interesting to see one done in yellow or something equally lairy, white would show stains a bit too much, but yellow might get away with it.

i used the proppa heat paint from halfords on my last engine but hamirite does the job also :P

I think my engines coming out in a few weeks time so it can be cleaned, polished and some maintence work done to it so i may as well paint it too! I'm up for a laugh, what colour would you guy prefer me to paint it, the cars black btw

do the block red mate will look good with the black and do al red pipes and crome stuff

Used OMP fire paint seems ok...

Ill either do it red, then ill paint the cam cover black , and sounds like a nice idea adding some aero quip hoses.
