  • Alex's Convertable Valver

I bought this car at the begining of Decmber 2004 as a replacement for my old red GTE 16v which had the timing slip and terminal rot. I wanted a cabriolet for ages, but after owning one valver i know i had to have another. When i saw this for sale on MIG i had to have it so i took a trip up to view it and liked it so i bought it.

After owning it for 2 weeks the drivers side drive shaft kept popping out, upon inspection the front drivers side wishbone mounting had part ripped away from the shell. This got welded up by a good mate and also got strengthened at the same time. After that i had the starter motor pack up while pulling out of my garage which resulted in me using my neighbours garage wall to stop the car!! The only damage was to the passenger side wing, headlight, indicator, bonnet and bumper. As i have all the spares on my red GTE i wasn't too bothered, still need to get bumper, bonnet and wing swapped and sprayed, but can wait till i have the money.

Then less than 2 days later the fuel pump packed up!! I'd already swapped it once as the original was playing up so i had no spare, but thanks to simon (stt) who had one lying around, i was able to get it up and running without having to buy a brand new one.

It currently looks the same as above. I will update this thread with any mods as i do them

lol.. reminds me of spence (SnowyAstra) on mig who in his garage was revving his engine at about 3k, while it was sat in reverse gear... his clutch cable snapped, and he estimates the car hit the back garage wall at about 20mph! needless to say he's now working on another one! pmsl...

But your car looks sweet as a nut from the outside, nice.
