Well this is my new toy to play with while the Kadett is being rebuilt:

A mate pointed it out to me when he saw it in the Trade-It and I was bitching about driving the Nova.

It's done a genuine 44k with one previous owner.

The thing is totally standard and in fantastic condition considering its age.

The thing must of come fully spec'ed, its got PAS, EW, EM original Philips "Hi-Power" Stereo and Electric ariel.
The Interior is fantastic, there is sadly a tiny bit of wear on the drivers bolster, the rest has never been sat in!

The engine runs sweetly with no hint of tapping or nocking but because I can I cleaned the plugs, treated it to new Leads, dissy cap and rotor arm and it seems to go even better!

There are a few bits that need sorting out on it, the back arches are just starting to go on either side, there are a few other small areas of surface which are easy to sort,
at some point an after marked fuel computer has been fitted (the thing forward of the gearstick) so I'm going to remove this and chase the wires
back, some after market air horns are in the bay, if these play a tune I'll be ebaying them, if not it's destination: Bin! and a few other little niggles.
But tbh with a little tlc this is an easy daily driver concourse competitor:cool:
And the cost?
£450 :D

Well yesterday I continued my work on the GTE, First the oil change:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Gander/Oilchange2-080105.jpg

Thankfully the oilfilter cam willingly but just as that 2nd photo was taken it started to hail:rolleyes:
Not included is the next pic where I was having a Hissyfit at the weather:o
After the new filter was primed, put on and the sump plug was back in;)
I filled her up (3.25l inc. filter).

Then on went the new leads, dissy cap and rotor arm.
I had just planned to do the cap and arm but number 2 HT lead left its end in the old cap which prompted a trip (well a lift) back to the local motorfactors where I got the Champion 8mm leads for £10:)

After a quick spin she seemed better than ever, and pleased with my days work I had a cuppa!

--------

Today, because I had one lying around I chucked on a strutbrace:

And to test it I had to do a 30 mile round trip:o which included the ultimate handling test, down through Chedder Gorge at speed in the wet, I'm pleased to say that the car passed with flying colours, it already drove like new but now the turn-in seems sharper and seems to have removed almost all understeer:cool:

Sorry I missed you when you popped in mate, I was in Bath last night and stopped of for a pub roast lunch in Priddy!

Words cannot describe just how mint this car is, I cannot belive it. Some tidying is needed as joey says but its incredible, look at the bumper bits - they are black not off grey!!! I really like it, an unmolested example:D

I want those doorcards now! they are much nicer then the standard shizzle I have, finiding some is proving pretty hard:(

and lastly LMFAO at Hamish posing for the camera there!

Bought one again about 3 months ago, a bit more milage, but also very tidy, but mine is the standard poverty spec with no extras. Goes really well after a bit of a tune up. Will try and get a picture up, even with my dented bonnet, after the wind cought it when I was putting a four branch on it about 2 weeks ago, gutted. nice to see there more left out there

Great cheap motor that.

Doubt you'll need to do any XE/LET trouble shooting with an 8v!!

Dont agree with comments on the interior though. I'd have the dark trim from a later white valver anyday.
