    Advice needed

    Have a colleague at work who has the following

    Astra MK2 GTE 16v (Has a 2.5L Turbo Calibra Engine conversion done), 1989 'G' Plate. Champagne Limited Edition, 27500k on the clock (original mileage). Cross 16v Alloys.

    The registration plate as well might be worth something? Its G123 ABC

    Car is in showroom condition, and has been kept in storage.

    What price should he be looking at regarding looking at selling this?

    I will get some pictures of it tomorrow?

    I'm pretty certain there isnt such thing as a 2.5 16v Turbo engine from a Calibra.

    There is a 2.0 16v Turbo engine C20LET. ?

      He says he'll check when he gets home tonight. He bought the car as it was a bargain when he saw it for sale and hasn't really checked the full spec out as he put it straight into storeage as an investment.

            Could have had a C25XE with a turbo conversion. I've seen and Astra GTE with one of those in, done by Courtenay I think. It was only a single blower rather than a twin blower though.

              they had a v6 turbo project years ago on their calibra,never ran the way they wanted it to,too much heat in one of the cylinders so they abandoned the project.

                Courtenays did a 2.5 V6 twin turbo automatic Cavalier hatchback in burgandy years ago, featured on the inside back page of Max P. They never bothered again as Jon said it would have been a £10k conversion !

                  The parts to turbo a C25XE are readily available from Saab. I looked into this a little while back as my Bro in law is a parts Manager for Saab. The trouble was the cost. It would cost well over 1k for the bits and the turbos would only low pressure items. However I am sure some high pressure items could be sourced.

                    Just had it confirmed that the Astra is a 2.0L Turbo and not a 2.5L like first stated. Will be getting the pics of it for Monday.
