      wow! that is one extremely well tuned 8v!!! How did you raise the rev limit and are you running standard management tom?

        Im not shure but i think with carbs you dont realy have a rev limit as there is no injection or ecu and things ?, but again im unshure .

          Correct. No ECU. No rev limiter. Distributer from a 1.8 SR engine.

            it hardly needs to be said Tom but thats alot of work there, and its a car Ive followed the prgress of for over 3 years now.

                    Tom,

                    Nice car! I have been following your exploits on your web site. Mk2 Astras rule!

                    I'm curious about the oil temperature mod - can you give details?

                    Also, how did you plumb in the rear bias valve? Are you using the std. astra master cylinder?

                      I found that the Rally Designs oil temperature sensor has the same temperature-resistance properties as the std Astra water temperature sender. So I sent both sensors to a 2 way switch and from then onto the digi dash input.

                      Bias valve: removed the cross diagonal arrangement and made it so one output does front brakes and the other does the rear brakes. Single pipe from master cylinder goes via brake bias adjuster to rear of car where it T's into two. Spare output on master cylinder blocked up with a plug.

                        Like i said other times..your C20NE is really nice Tom. You need put it in rollers for see how much power comes from your crank..

                            Based on top speed run, 1/4 mile times and various rolling road figures, I estimate mid 130s at front wheels, which is 155-165BHP at flywheel. Around 140-145lb-ft I expect too.
