Swapping number plates?

Basically i'm buying a cali turbo shell for my rwd project, BUT it has a personalised number plate that this dude says is worth £200, now I need a personalised no plate like I need a hole in my head so I was wondering how I could transfer another plate to this shell so he can keep it?

i think you can do it on the DVLA website, im sure lee may on mig said that. all he has to do is register that plate onto his new car, and they send you a new reg. dont know much more than that, but it isnt complicated from what ive been told.

the bloke your buying it off needs to do it as everything is in his name,log book etc.plus its a ball ache i used to have to do when i sold cars and its half a day in your local dvla office sat about waiting
