Lot of work there well done . 2 weeks is pretty good going. Is it your first build ??

What arches have you used on the rear?

Surely you have fitted the steering wheel on the wrong side. LOL

Two weeks was a neccessity, as races were coming and no other option to me. When racing whole season, each race is important.

This is not my first built Me and my mechanics are in racing business already for many years.

Both front wings are fiberglass, as well as rear arches. Actually whole front will be fiberglass including bonnet when new engine will come in.

I have different opinion about that

Currently there is 18E (1.8 8v) at approx 150Hp, but not for long. This engine has lived enough long. Its mileage is approx 30000km in two years, mostly full throttle, and it is slowly reflecting it.

If you would asked it to me a month ago, then answer would be definite no. Now my answer is more related to $$$.
For example, process in pictures (those two weeks) costed to me and my codriver approximately 6000Euros in parts and related expenses. That is excluding for labour to mechanics. There are a lot of little bits and pieces that can not be seen in pictures, but in the end it totals...

              Re: Rally Opel Kadett

Maybe some history of this car:

Three years ago I bought it for a 100eur as a scrap heap. My intention was to rebuild it for local races where people where just having fun, not big speeds, mainly cart tracks, short gravel tracks up to 3km, all aimed for precision not speed. Roll cage was not neccesarry, acctually these races were aimed for stock cars.

Anyway I rebuilt it. Took it apart to a last nut. Body was seam welded, new rear arches (total rust), new skirts (also) with steel pipes welded inside to give extra strenght, also rear beams??? (main structural element of a car, places where suspension is bolted to) where changed. This gave enough body strenght (for example when changing wheel, you could normaly open and close doors). Repainted it to a yellow (it was black). Also suspension was new, all ball joints, shocks, springs etc, but only stock parts.

Engine also was remanufactured. Using only stock parts with some remachining and hand work we achieved roughly 150Hp at that engine's best days. Exhaust header was fitted with 60mm exaust till end, 230cc injectors, head work, balanced block, lightened flywheel... mainly thats it.

And in this way car lived two years. I drowe with it quite many events, but not any full season because of several reasons. First one of course was money, second was that in end of 2003 I quite heavily crashed it (one car in city traffic hit me, I was standing still) - whole front was devastated (that reason why there is frame made of profiles now), front right place (where shock bolts in) moved some 5cm, as well as floor etc. In total to put as it was asked for me half year.

Mean time series became faster and faster, and evolved to a 2nd league of Latvian Rally championship. Following starting from this year roll cage was needed, as well as homologated seats, harness, etc. So my opel during this winter became a FIA R11 group car.

Before putting roll cage in it I drove it to local experts in body geometry to make sure, that everything is in places - well, it wasn't, so they worked some three days on a car to straighten it (front left wheel was 3cm back, rear suspension was bent and not in place). Then car was straightly given to guy puted roll cage in, then to a painter, and when he finished we where left 10 days to do all the rest. Anyway as you saw, it went fine.

Currently for june I am preparing c20xe engine, in the end I hope to see 240-250Hp with lots of torq, willwood brake calipers, quaife gearbox with ATB and some other bits and pieces

                            Thanks

In minirally league results are wide spread, as I usually test something, or something brokes down.
But in profesional races I usually come in fifth place in AR2000 group (consists of A6, A7, R10, R11 classes). It is quite hard to get much higher, as podium usually is occupied bu Citroen Xara Kit car, VW Golf Kit car, A group Ford Focus etc...
