Very smart shell, why are you taking the engine out? Or did you just buy the shell + running gear?
Are you are putting a v6 or let in there?

270bhp let out -> 220bhp tb'd xe in

nope :/ i've only ever driven a 1.4 Jubilee and a 2.0i 8v Kadett.
why is a turbo'ed xe any different to a let?
Rob_S
27-11-2004, 07:12 PM
traction...or not in fwd
the 220bhp tb xe 'should' be quicker in actual fact under a fair few circumstances due to power delivery, i know i have beaten a few ;)
straight line drag tho turbo would win of course, but jamies built his engine himself very well and hes not going to let it go for 1 and also he isnt all about straight line speed

I prefer N/A or supercharged tbh, don't lexmaul produce a supercharger for the c20xe?

NA rules, turbos are a pain in the ass, i like the reliabilaty of mine, done over 15k on the rebuild engine without a hicup, apart from a bad earth making it drink fuel but thats it.
should be quite intersting, was pushing the car about with easy today with no engine in it, takes 2 to push the cav.

Nice motor you have there sir, looking forward to seeing it with your lump in!

Would it not be better to supercharge a LET? just thinking of the lower compression ratio... ie: do the same ideas apply to supercharging as for turbo?
Have seen a couple massive superchargers at aircraft part jumble sales i go to... and come across the Mini ones now and again too.. always wondered.... :D
What management would suit a supercharged LET?

you would proberbly need to get a remapped ecu during on a rolling road test. There was a pretty damn big supercharger on ebay but he wanted £500 for it and it was unmachined so you would proberbly have to pay another £500-1k for it to be fitted.

i'm of two minds about the let I have enough money to buy one now. But I think i'll just keep working on my cali since i won't be able to insure a let untill i'm 20+.
