  • mk3 dash on the way in

Good progess so far. i am putting a mk3 dash in with mk3 car loom, i have left the original door looms in and spliced on the mk3 as the replacement one i had did not have electric mirrors on it. heres some pics to help anyone else

heres the car with the original dash removed

    the loom removed

to fit the dash over the steering columb you need to cut a piece out of the dash metal support above the steering columb hole

once you have drilled the new top mount holes you will need to put longer bolts in but be gentle or you'll rip the dash

dash in with no loom, you need to make new mounts for the side as the originals don't reach

    and the loom in

and the dash starting to go back together

just need to connect the rear of the loom and the engine loom to it

Re: mk3 dash on the way in

just realised that i aint put any finished images of the mk3 dash, and here is one....
      it's done!!!

just need to sort out somethin for the doors and rear quarters, i was thinking about mk3 items to keep the flow from the dash but i can see them needing alot of alterations

gaz no i aint putting the digidash in for 2 reasons, i aint got one it was nicked and i don't like them myself

Nice, glad you got it in. I have seen Calibra door cards in the mk2 so anything is possible.

Nice work! Mark T posted up fairly recently about his exploits trying to fit Calibra door cards, they would suit that Mk3 dash.

              Don't bother.

I dind't get anything near finished, it's just not in my ability to make it look 1/2 decent cutting things about like that.

                    Very handy, thanks very much!

Got this dash for conversion in the garage, just want some Champion leather (as if) or some black gte 16v trim.
