My project cabby

hey everyone, ive just purchased a fire damaged 1600 cabby as a project.
Plans:
big mouth bumper
badboy gte bonnet
euro style wheels
new reclincer seats
black roof lining (inside)
black roof protection cover for when roof is down (where are these available from???)
lowered
new engine ,2.0 8v or 2.5 v6
front and rear bump strips and all trim painted gunmetal grey
remove side bump strips
new dashboard
full respray in saturn purple like in pics

yeah engine bay was gutted so ive got to find a 1600i as a doner
i'd use a 8v gte as a doner but i wouldnt be able to insure it

Your going 1600i? Not 1600carb?

I'd get a MK3 as a donor for the engine - they are more plentiful than the Mk2's and cheaper as a result. Think the 1.6i is a 80ish bhp unit like the SV Ross and I have.

May see easier power increases with induction kit and exhaust than we would with equivalent mods

well it already had a 1600i in before i got it and it used to be my friends car and it was alright
afterall i dont need a fast car for my first car because it would end up in a field lol
i was thinking about a nova gte or gsi engine (100 bhp i think)
failing that any 1600i will do

i've got a 1.6 (carb) engine you can have for nowt wen i send the cav to the scrap yard in about 3 months, the engine is mint, 115 on the clock but drives & pulls as if it was new

then cabby will be on its way to being complete

yeh i got the full car, still using it for work at the mo, but the tax & mot runs out soon so will be getting stripped & scrapped, its got the same interior as my sxi, alloys, spoiler, central locking etc, its baisicly an sri with a smaler engine

engine and engine bay was all damaged but he has broke the car the other day so many parts for sale.
