My new Astra SXI.

I havent been on here in a long long time ever since i scrapped the SRI but now i am back and with another mk2 which is a boardeux red SXI 3 door, she is a bit scrappy on the outside bit its solid underneath, thats what matters, plans for the car are a secret and will not be disclosed bit as things get done pics will appear.

Going to look at a GTE at the weekend with the intention of robbing the rear lights, sideskirts and GTE rear quarter trims depending on what the scrappy want to charge me, and she should be getting booked in soon for rear arch replacements and both quarters being resprayed.

did you get this off e-bay by any chance? i've got a spare set of origional sxi alloys & interior if you are interested, & i've got a spare gte front bumper if you fancy swapping it for yours
can i have your standard rear lights when you get your gte ones? :wave:

yeh its the one that sat on £250 with no bids, ended up emailing the seller afterwards and getting it for a good price.

what colour is the GTE bumper ???

The bumper is white, its an early 8v gte bumper without the front fog holes, comes with origional mesh grille & gte badge insert (hard to find these badges aswel)

if you decide to do anything with the front grille (modify or change) let me know as i need that exact style grille as i'm making my car look as standard as possible apart from cav turbo rims,:applause:

you can have the grill fella lol mine is getting a custom GTE front bumper, plans are a secret at the moment, but i have a very very good bodyshop just round the corner from me and the funds to use it

well she has received her first gracious mod, Mk3 stalks :) got them from the scrappie and fitted them saturday, also won a set of GTE sideskirts from the wonderful fleabay which should be delivered within the next few days..

thats all extra money though isnt it :( , i would rather pay £30 for a bumper the right colour then have to pay out twice, once for a bumper and then again for the spray job.

yep the Mk3 stalks fit straight into the mk2, you can also get them from the cavalier and calibra, you just need to make sure that whatever car you get them from has a rear wiper.

Big plans for the car, one little teaser for you all though, what do you get if you combine badboy, mattig and blended vents all in one sentence ;)

Thats the SRI isn't it? The sx and sxi have poss the nicest interiors of all the mk2 range.

picked these up yesterday, going to my bodyshop on monday to get a quote to have them welded in, the entire quarter panels resprayed and a dent sorted below the offside rear light.

I spent ages trying to get the vent cut outs right.. make sure you make them large enough otherwise they'll be lost on the bonnet.

just purchased a bordeux red GTE rear bumper and GTE spoiler the same colour £15 bargin :) gotta go and pick them up pretty soon.

Also the main thing, went down the bodyshop during my lunchbreak and got the quote i have been waiting for. here is the list of what they will be doing.

Replace rear arches and roll them.
Respray rear quarter panels all the way up to the roof.
Strip and respray the doors.
Sort out the dent below the offside rear light.

£500 :) , got most of the cash sat here in my hands just need to get the rest of it together and off she goes.

not sure on the make but they came from camberley autor factors, basically a massive autofactors near us, good thing is they include the last 4" of the outer sill, mine has been plated there so when these are fitted that will get rid of the plated bits :)

Yeah they look just like what I'm after, was gonna use 3 separate panels. There's a Camberly in Salisbury too :)

the chav burberry interior was only fitted in the SRI & LXI mdels,

the SXI interior was/is black with red & dark grey lines/stripes in the centre of the seats

even had black dash & all plastic trims

well the inevitable has happened, the rattle in the engine has got worse and i am starting to agree with the seller that the bottom end is on its way out :( , i could have bought at least 4 new engines by now but i havent because i am not going to hand over the cash until i find a good enough lump. in the meantime though i have been stocking up parts for the impending engine change. All these parts have come from where i work and are all new and at a discount price i love my job
