It's a very interesting read, but I really dont understand why he didnt just buy a turbo/16v lump, you can see hes put an extreme amount of effort and money in. But at the end of the day, its still a 1.8 8v that's cost about £1.5-2k which produces about the same as a lightly tuned 16v, that will prolly sell for about £800-1k.
The car's shell is mint as well.

lol tom will never sell it...certainly not for profit anyway and he knows it.
he simply wanted to tune the car in stages rather than take an easy but more expensive option
