hello all i am new to the astra mk2 site and thought i would show you my bad boy :( lol i wish

it is a '93 mk2 astra cab with fuk all done to it.
GOOD POINTS
it has not reached the grave yard yet !!! :D

BAD POINTS
i have not had chance to look at the car prober yet but this is wat i av found so far. well were to start all the front end was fuked bonnet,front and rear bumbers missin ,head lights,indicators,wings.
all the seats r tatty same with the door cards and the roof is fuked

i have just got a bonnet of ebay with a smooth boot and shit like that there is a reeli nice gold wat u think leave car red or chance to gold the car is havin a full respray anyways so it dont make any diffrence ????

it looks like a 16v center console to me so i would say some one has put that in.

i prefer the mk2 dash tbh but it just depends on what you like really there are some people on here that have put mk3 dashes in so you could see what they look like when fitted.

Car looks to be in good nick matey. Most people dont get to see behind the bumpers before they buy a car and they are a key point to rust, along with the arches and sills.

A nice sprayjob is always the way forward though dude, glad you are getting it all uptogether should be spanking when you are done!

the gsi's were all v6 also done a sri model v6, super touring and gsi had been tweaked by msd to up bhp over the standard sri v6,

It's a Carbon filled canister which gathers the fuel vapors from the tank as it has to be a sealed system now. It is then burned in the engine under appropriate conditions.

hiya m8 wat will happen if i remove the canister thing and yea they probs do i baught em off a guy in whitby (cleveland) today the bumbers r std and the boot and bonnet r both modded !!!!

i live about half an hour from whitby, been there a few times, thats maybe where i recognise them!

i toke my canister thing off, and followed the pipe back to the fuel tank, cut it with still a little length on it, folded it in half and cable tied it out of the way making sure it was nipped shut. duno about the other pipe cos it was already dis-connected, so it can't of done much!

it's meant to lower your emissions slightly, apparently by recycling some of the burnt gases and stuffing them back in the fuel tank.

i got it from a shop in burnley and the horn and indicator switch off thingy still works aswell u just have to take it off the std one it just pops off i think the mountney boss kit fits i think that is the one i used anyways

the part number for the boss kit is M 78 X OPEL the kit can b used for other steering wheels aswell such as momo, sparco ect ect fits a wide range hope this helps

Some of the convertables had 16v floorpans. Mine didn't:( . I think that they were totally random for the factory.
