  • Should aerial hole stay or go

    I'm in two minds.
The electric aerial element is snapped and i thought it would be available separately like on my old Carlton but apparently not.

I'm about to fit new front wings and don't no whether to bother cutting the hole.

If i don't whats my best bet for an aerial or does anyone no if i can get a new element.

What did you do when fitting new wings ?

My ST200 has no external ariel but seems to work off the rear screen. Vxl could not specify any part or adaptor but reckoned a Audio specialist would know. You could try that then no need for holes.

Otherwise i like the roof top ariel as fitted to modern Vxl hatches.

when i bought my gte it had replacement wings and no ariel hole, so i cut one into the roof. just take the interior light out, and with a bit of measuring (for the centre) you'll be right! looks good aswell i think!

9 out of 9 for lose it

I wish you lot were a bit more decisive

Nobody think i should keep it at least so we could have an argument

I do like the bee sting aerials probably fitted at the rear.

How much hassle is the headlining as it's probably the only bit off the car i didn't need to fix

easy peesy ,take the plastic trim from the top of the boot and round the sunroof and pull the head lining back through the boot .

I'm surprised the aerial is not available from Vauxhall. Is the person that served you normally OK with finding stuff?

Probably worth checking again it looks the same unit that was in the Carlton and the element was only about £12.

It was a couple of month ago i asked it might have been nearly lunch time or something lol

Might check Halfords i think they done them as well.

Mine will be going when I finally get enough money for a respray etc, its a funtime car sp I'd much rather listen to the air intake sucking air, and the dump valve throwing it out! I think its only really every day driving cars where you need a radio, a CD player is a much better bet
