Steering Rack

The steering rack on our 16v has packed up, is there anyway i can fix it or do i have to replace it? I think a seal has gone inside it? :( What alternatives are there or should i stick to the original part.
Is the 8v rack the same as the 16v one, are they inter changable?

check the 8v is the same make as your 16v (ie they are both ZF racks)
or buy a recon one in exchange for your knackered one
or buy a quick manual rack from me LOL

Cheers for the rack STT :D , i fitted it on Saturday and seems to working fine.
There was a slight difference between the racks, one of the pipes that run along the top of the rack has a rubber hose section where the original had metal pipes? Fitted ok but had fun taking out and refitting bolt under the brake servo though!!! :mad: CheerS again matey i'm sure i'll contact you again if i need any bits!

Simons got a manual steering rack down there with my name on it, that all. There aint nowt wrong with it.
