Sold the old GTE so made way for my new one, insurance 85 pound cheaper for some reason too! both insured with same mods etc, only difference is new one is one year older!? still gotta do a few bits of work to her, then i will be fully happy! mainly one wheel bearing then its the fun of steering rack!! heres a few pics taken recently:

First two taken this eve, drove into a nice space at my local vaux dealership, looked much better than all there new cars i thought, bit dark to see them well tho, but quite cool none the less:

It aint graphite, its aubergine, very dark purple, quite a rare colour i believe, picked it up for 200 quid with due to eleccy problem n steering rack needs doing as leaks a fair bit! here is the link when i bought it about a month ago:

http://www.astra-mk2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3277

its pretty nice, need to get the main bits sorted, then want a bad boy bonnet as the laquer is started to fade ne way, will try n get some pics in daylight tomoz, in better quality as thos dont show the colour too well

looks darker than aubergine, must be down to the camera/weather.

when I used to work at dixon motors one of the mechanic's had a mint aubergine 16v, looked great when the sun was out

yeah is pretty clean, 76k miles, defo aubergine just the camera makes it look darker, looks lush n black at night, bargain for 200, just wanna get it fixed up, steering n suspension dont fell right due to steering rack n wheel bearing etc, very smooth to drive other than that, gonna do a few service bits tomoz cos its a bit lumpy when u drive off from idle up the revs, hopefully fuel filter n plugs etc may sort that, so thatl be good if so, n brakes need doing too, thanks for ur coments, something about the car just makes me wanna get it really nice, cudnt sell i on, had to keep it, shame my old one had to go in the process tho!

the rarer colours seem to have survived more. I put a poll up ages ago and there was loads of bordeaux red ones left even though they were suposed to be one of the rarer colours

you've got the weather in the summer, my pale northern skin gets burnt to feck when i'm down torquay

elecy prob was:

the fuel gauge stopped working, so lad took it to a garage up in swansea where he was at uni, charged him 90 quid to look at it and left the dash out saying the digi dash was faulty, so he was putting it back in in the evening, and connected up the headlight switch with the inside light on, and managed somehow to short two wires on that switch, positive to the headlights, which are fused on the negative side and the ground to the interior light, which is fuesd on the positive side, so pulled all battery current thru those two wires, so they melted, one to the big clump of positive wires in loom just behind dash and the other to the passenger door switch, still need to do the latter to get interior light to wok, this sparked at the headlight switch and set on fire, so replaced all the wires from the loom to the switch as far back as i could, so its all ok now

plus followed the wire which goes under carped under back seat, disconnected the connector to fuel gauge in tank, and reconnected, which was the problem! so dash is fine?!?! which i knew as i tried a spare one which i had and it still didnt work!!

just gotta do the last wire to the door switch which then links up to the interior light and drivers side and switch again.

I had an aubergene valver 6 years ago, kept it 1 day then realised it was dead.

The graphite/dark grey colour is ash black.
