my g/f's dad has a mk1 that we turned into a works rep, it has a pinto in it, he has only had it a few months and has done 2 rallys in it and buzed it and needs a rebuild, it is being rebuilt at the mo ready for a rally at the end of january.
but on the floor of his workshop is a cosworth engine lying there begging to go in it! he got it stupidly cheap on ebay. he wanted to take the turbo off and run it on carbs with a wild cam and different pistons etc, should run 280ish wbhp acording to the compant he spoke to. he found out loads about it but it was gonna cost a lot and would of been pushed for time to get it done for the next rally. aparently it is quite popular to convert them to carbs and lob in the old escorts, i have only seen 2 like it, the rest still have the turbo on them.

i really want to put the engine in my GTE! RWD cosworth powered!

mk2's can go for silly money, my old boss had an rally prepped one running an XE. he paid £9000 for that and it was nowere near as nice as that one
